In a far distant future, the Green Lanterns of Sector 2814 were killed by the people they swore to protect. Mogo was entrusted with recruiting a new batch of heroes, but an unpredictable battle with Brainiac led the rings to drop on Earth. Humans waged wars over the rings, and the only people to survive didn't have the strength nor the willpower to properly wield them.
