Green Lantern Corps #222 is an issue of the series Green Lantern Corps (Volume 1) with a cover date of March, 1988.

Synopsis for "The Last Testament Of Sinestro!"

The Green Lantern Corps is gathered in Oa to judge Sinestro. The entire GLC agrees on his guilt, and the majority holds a grudge against him, asking for retaliation after countless deaths caused by the renegade. Some are against the idea of the death penalty and claim he must be returned to a Sciencell.

After a very biased trial, and a minority voting against it, the final verdict for Sinestro results in the death sentence. Right before the execution, Sinestro says he knows a secret that will affect the entire corps, and that he will reveal it only if they set him free. The Green Lanterns don't know what to do, and after a brief moment of doubt and discussion, they decide Sinestro is just bluffing and they don't need any information he might know. So the Green Lanterns gather around Sinestro forming a circle, aim their rings towards him, and execute him.

After checking his vitals, Kilowog proclaims justice is done at last, while other GLs stay in silence. Interrupting the gloomy scene, Salakk arrives from the future with the warning: “don't tell me you've already killed Sinestro -- because if you have, you've killed the Green Lantern Corps!“.
