Green Lantern Movie Prequel: Tomar-Re #1 is a one-shot with a cover date of September, 2011. It was published on July 8, 2011.
Synopsis for "Forbidden Planet"
Tomar-Re asks Abin Sur about his recent mission on Earth, but Salakk interrupts their conversation, summoning Tomar for a meeting. Salakk briefs him about Purd'n, a terrorist dubbed Darkfire wreaking havoc on X'hal.
Upon arrival, Tomar finds X'hal completely ravaged. He saves some survivors from the wreckage, who tell him to find Darkfire at the shipyards. Seeing the devastation enrages Tomar-Re, whose suit briefly adopts a tint of red. Tomar tracks the ship to the Lost Sector, and, even though no Green Lantern is allowed to enter, his status as a member of the Honor Guard authorizes him to go forth.
Tomar-Re finally intercepts the ship and fights Darkfire. Suddenly, a nearby presence makes Tomar feel fear for the first time, and his force weakens. They take the battle to a deserted planet as the ship crashes on the surface. However, Tomar overcomes fear and captures Darkfire. Three Intraxians walk out of the wrecked ship, but Tomar-Re has barely enough power left to escape the lost sector with Purd'n. Darkfire taunts Tomar to kill him since marooning him with the Intraxians would put them in further danger. Tomar-Re ultimately decides to spare him and takes Darkfire to Oa, feeling defeated because he fell into his play. As they fly away, Tomar-Re can't help but fear that his decision will doom the Intraxians, as well as the universe.
