Synopsis for "Magnetic Personalities"
Doctor Polaris crashes into a magnetic research station at the North Pole, kills the scientists, and takes over the facility to carry on with his research.
Meanwhile, in New York, Kyle Rayner visits Radu's Coffee Shop when his spoon and every metallic object in the place start to float. After the weird incident is over, Kyle sets off to Japan to deliver a design job.
In Philadelphia, Ray Terrill also experiences some weird magnetic phenomenon at the park, and he recognizes it must be Doctor Polaris' doing.
Later on, Polaris develops the ability to cause tidal waves and earthquakes, sinking a small island in Japan. He then sets off to Tokyo, where Polaris defeats the local heroine Arashi. When Kyle arrives in Japan, he finds Arashi unconscious with a broken arm, and encounters Doctor Polaris, stronger than the last time they fought.[1] Ray arrives in time and joins the battle. While they fight, Polaris threatens them with an incoming tidal wave, so Green Lantern sets off to deal with it while Ray takes care of Polaris.
When Kyle returns to the battle, he figures out a way to defeat Polaris. Kyle realizes that Emerson's personality is gone, but a third persona, another version of Polaris, might be forming to struggle for control. Together, Ray and Green Lantern divide Polaris' attention, forcing his personalities to fight each other. Emerson's personality emerges, leaving him in a catatonic state while the two Polaris' personalities fight for control inside him.
With the bad guy defeated, Kyle sets off to deliver his designs to the Japanese company. Ms. Ohashi receives him, and he recognizes her as Arashi, the heroine with the broken arm. Kyle gives her the designs hoping they'll get to work together again in the future.
