Synopsis for "The Doom of the Golden Sun"

Green Lantern finds that the sunlight turns everything it touches into yellow, rendering his power ring useless. This golden spotlight effect happens twice on the same day, with a difference of one hour. Before it happens a third time, Green Lantern investigates the sun and finds his foe Evil Star waiting for him. Evil Star has placed a device that stimulates the sun to go supernova. They fight for various minutes, and Green Lantern gets struck by a third sunburst. However, he put on an experimental collapsible pressure suit that protects him from the radiation, and he uses the confusion of the moment to defeat Evil Star and destroy his device. With his machine destroyed, Evil Star turns into an old man because he used the absorbed radiation to maintain his youth. Green Lantern locks the foe in a cage and takes him to the Guardians.

Synopsis for "The Trial Of Arkkis Chummuck: Evidence"

Arkkis Chummuck testifies that after defeating and killing his predecessor, he ate his corpse as a customary sign of respect to his opponent. Then, after receiving the Green Lantern ring, he returned to his home planet and demanded the ruler to abdicate in his favor. The ruler refuses to do so and fights the Green Lantern, with unsuccessful results. Unable to stand the shame of being defeated by a former clerk, the foremost decided to end his life and preserve his honor. On Oa, the defense on the trial asks Arkkis what would he do if the tribunal decides against him, to which he answers that his honor would lead him to end his life.
