Synopsis for "Nightmare At The North Pole!"

While testing a solar-powered jet, Hal Jordan loses control of the craft and tries to contain it using his power ring. But a rush of magnetic energy causes the plane to break into pieces. The news of the third crashed experiment plane comes as heavy news for Carol Ferris and Bruce Gordon, the scientist responsible for the experiments.

On top of that, Ferris receives a citation from a court in Washington, D.C., saying that the government might cancel their contract with Ferris Aircraft. Not knowing what to do, Carol decides to call her father to take care of the company again. Unfortunately, her parents are held hostages in Zurich, Switzerland, and can't answer the call. Feeling lonely, Carol opens up about her feelings with Hal, and the couple reconciles and resumes their relationship.

Shortly, Hal decides to help Carol and take her to Washington. However, while flying over New York City, Green Lantern gets attacked by flying metal objects and lets Carol back on the ground. But while he deals with the magnetic threat, Carol gets chased by a masked figure, which disappears after she seeks help from the cops.

Green Lantern gets overpowered by the magnetized metals, and they carry him to a fortress in the North Pole, where he finds Doctor Polaris, who lured Green Lantern to save him from a magnetic thrall. However, Polaris uses his magnetic powers and defeats the Lantern. He then straps Hal to a machine he uses to absorb his ring energy, which increases his powers a thousandfold to fulfill his plans.
