Synopsis for "The Curse Of Krystayl"

A Guardian appears in John Stewart's apartment, requesting his immediate help as substitute Green Lantern to save Earth from extinction. John accepts and looks for Green Arrow in Star City, and the Guardian tells them of the alien warrior who absorbs carbon-based life forms. This warrior was a weapon created on the planet of Krystayl, which was destroyed millennia ago thanks to the combined willpower of the Green Lantern Corps, shattering the monster to splinters. Unfortunately, this also killed the people he absorbed, something the Guardians deemed as an "acceptable loss." Those fragments drifted through space for centuries, until one of those shards arrived on Earth and woke up, continuing his orders of extinction.

With all the information they need, and trying to find a way to save the people absorbed by the crystal, Green Lantern and Green Arrow confront the giant monster. John attempts to save some people from harms way, but his willpower is weak, and he accidentally drops some victims, allowing Krystayl to absorb them and grow in size. The giant goes for Green Arrow on a rooftop, and encases Oliver's arm in crystal after touching him. John saves Oliver in time, and he frees his arm by hitting the crystal's weak spot, which gives them the idea of attacking Krystayl's stress point to shatter it. While Green Arrow distracts the alien, John scans him and finds the weak spot. Oliver strikes the killing blow with an arrow, shattering Krystayl to pieces and freeing the people he absorbed. With the threat averted, Green Arrow invites John to some chili.

Meanwhile, in deep space, Green Lantern Galius Zed confronts the traitor Eddore and takes his Globe of Power. However, when Zed gazes at the globe, he gives it back, and together they travel to tell their fellow Green Lanterns about the Guardians' betrayal.
