Green Lantern (Volume 2) #189 is an issue of the series Green Lantern (Volume 2) with a cover date of June, 1985.
Synopsis for "Echoes!"
Green Lanterns John Stewart and Katma Tui attempt to stop Sonar and his new accomplices from escaping the prison. However, the felons combined powers get the upper hand over the Green Lanterns, who drop unconscious as they escape. Following their defeat, Katma reminds John of the importance of a Green Lantern's duty, and together they charge their rings.
Meanwhile, Hal and Carol keep investigating the Predator's identity, but come empty-handed when they look for information from former Ferris' employee Peter Grantland. Later, they get to the hospital where Guy Gardner is staying, and Hal decides to visit his friend. Unable to dialogue with Guy, Hal tells him about his recent decisions to quit the Corps, and that he intends to visit him frequently to nurture their bond.
Back at Ferris Aircraft, Mr. Smith meets Clay Kendall and his fiance April O'Rourke, and informs them that their services in the company are no longer needed. Clay tries to protest, saying that they have no right to fire a man who was injured on the job, but Smith insists. This decision is actually an order the Predator gave Smith to extend their control over Ferris Aircraft.
After patrolling the skies, Katma and John discover Sonar and his allies are attacking Disneyland. This time they come prepared to resist Blindside's light attack to get him out of the way first. Then, as the remaining two crooks distract them, Throttle uses his power to accelerate Katma's heart, and the three felons gather around her, forcing John to retreat. However, instead of retreat, John takes advantage that Sonar is pointing his gun to the East, so he travels around the world at super-speed to attack them from the West, incapacitating them. Katma recuperated from her knockout, and John kisses her, which makes her start to understand Earth's customs.
