Green Lantern (Volume 2) #193 is an issue of the series Green Lantern (Volume 2) with a cover date of October, 1985.

Synopsis for "Dead Ringer"

Green Lanterns John Stewart, Katma Tui, and Dalor fight off against the Zamarons, until Star Sapphire hypnotizes to leave the planet and erases their memories. However, Katma previously commanded his ring to record their memories and return them when they get a specific distance from the planet. Seeing that the Zamarons haven't committed any crime yet, Dalor suggests they all returned to their respective Sectors.

On their way back to Earth, John and Katma encounter Replikon, an old villain of the previous Green Lantern, in an asteroid field. His home world destroyed and now floating in the form of an asteroid field, Replikon wants to make Earth an habitable world for him and his children, even if he has to kill humanity to do it. He knocks both Green Lanterns out and takes John's ring. John commands his ring, still in Replikon's hand, to return to him and then incapacitates Replikon by containing his original gas form trapped in an energy construct. John and Katma consult the Guardians if they allow them to rebuild Replikon's world, and they give their approval, not only for the task at hand but also for the relationship both Green Lanterns developed. They return to Replikon and use the asteroids and the atmosphere of nearby planets to recreate his home world and make it habitable for Replikon and his children. Thankful, the strange alien asks the Green Lanterns to stay, but they return to Earth.

Meanwhile, the people of Earth and the Guardians at Oa start seeing the effects of the incoming Crisis. At Broome Memorial Hospital, Guy Gardner wakes up from his coma and asks to leave the building, saying he has "a long-overdue appointment with a ring."
