Having gotten a job as a pilot in Idaho, Hal gets caught up in an attempt by two crooks to steal a painting that was claimed by his employers son during the war. As Green Lantern, Hal breaks up this attempt and turns the crooks over to the police. Fearing he may get involved with his bosses daughter before he's ready, Hal quits his job and travels on alone.

Synopsis for "Thraxon the Powerful VS Green Lantern the Powerless"

While on route between Idaho and Montana, Hal is contacted by the Guardians who order him to travel to the planet Pharma where the Green Lantern of that sector is missing. Traveling there with his power battery, Hal meets with the wife of that sectors Green Lantern, Davo Yull who tells him her husband has gone missing.

Hal travels out looking for him where he is attacked by a sea monster that takes his power battery. Finding Davo on an island he is powerless and near death and stranded on the island with a dead power ring while trying to stop the alien Thraxon.

Allowing the sea monster to consume him, Hal finds his power battery and recharges his own power ring and and goes after Thraxon. Attacking the alien, Hal decides to beat Thraxon with his bare hands and is able to best the alien by knocking him into his own device, knocking him out.

After Hal helps Davo get back to the mainland, they erase Davo's secret identity as a Green Lantern from his wife's memory, realizing that it was her knowledge of his identity that led Thraxon to capuring him.
