Synopsis for "Peril of the Powerless Green Lantern!"

Given a weeks vacation at his job at the Evergreen Insurance company, Hal uses it as an opportunity to explore the Pacific Northwest. Whenever he's called into action as Green Lantern, Hal finds himself acting uncharacteristically, almost stealing jewels after stopping a heist and laughing hysterically when he stops an earthquake. Ordered by the Guardians that he is also to take a vacation from adventuring as Green Lantern, because they believe that he's suffering from combat fatigue. To insure Hal doesn't go into action as Green Lantern, they take away his power ring and begin examining it.

Meanwhile, Hal saves Buddy and Eve Doremus, children to Mark Doremus (owner of the Cosmidor Corporation) from a bear. In gratitude, Eve invites Hal over to meet her father, and Hal ends up staying the night in their home, and the next few days romancing Eve. Meanwhile, the Guardians have determined that the problem wasn't with Hal, but with his power ring which was leaking a radiation that was causing Hal to act so uncharacteristically.

That night when crooks break into the Doremus home, Hal decides to stop them as Green Lantern even without his power ring. When the crooks try to shoot Hal with their guns, the bullets don't hurt him and Hal realizes that his power ring had reappeared on his hand. Hal then quickly dispatches the criminals while the Doremus family watches. When Eve decides to check on Hal, Green Lantern is shocked to find a Hal duplicate waiting in the room. "Leaving" Hal is informed by the Guardians what happened and that they created the Hal duplicate to cover for his secret identity. The next day Hal leaves the Doremus home, promising to come back to visit soon.
