- Kinda hate to part with my chin-whiskers after all these years! Wonder how Dinah will like a clean-shaven me?
Green Lantern (Volume 2) #94 is an issue of the series Green Lantern (Volume 2) with a cover date of May, 1977.
Synopsis for "Lure For An Assassin!"
Hal Jordan returns to Earth from a rescue mission in space and finds some so-called government agents taking his friend Oliver Queen. He confronts the men, who fight back against him with laser guns. After capturing them and freeing Ollie, Green Lantern falls with some illness, and his sudden loss of concentration lets the men go away. Seeing the sickness is most likely from alien origin, Oliver calls John Stewart, the backup Green Lantern, to take Hal to the Guardians.
With Hal and John gone, Oliver decides to investigate the man that wanted him captured. Following a map dropped by one of the men, Green Arrow ends up on a farm. There, he knocks some guards unconscious and disguises himself as one of them, shaving his beard, to sneak inside the facility. Someone is monitoring his movements, but they let him carry on. However, they capture Black Canary, who followed Oliver. Inside the underground hideout, some men confront Green Arrow. But they can't stop him from getting to Colonel Krisp's room. The old man applauds Oliver's feats, claiming this was a test to see if he could sneak inside the secret headquarters of the FIA. Krisp blackmails Green Arrow to work for him, showing him the captured Black Canary. Oliver accepts, reluctantly, and Krisp gives him the assignment of assassinating the U.S. president.
