- Hey, Lantern... You're almost as clever as the bad guys!
Green Lantern (Volume 2) #98 is an issue of the series Green Lantern (Volume 2) with a cover date of November, 1977.
Synopsis for "Listen To The Mocking Bird!"
After being teleported back to Earth, Green Lantern reunites with Green Arrow and Black Canary. After he catches his breath and explains what happened in Oa, Green Arrow tells Hal some terrorists kidnapped Katma Tui. Suddenly, a figure pretending to be Dinah's dead husband appears in the room, and, hypnotized, she walks toward him. Green Arrow stops her by knocking her out, and the figure reveals itself as Ffa'rzz, the Mocker. Hal confronts the Mocker and encapsulates it in an energy cage, but the alien teleports and escapes. With the Mocker free on Earth, Hal and Oliver see it urgent to find Katma Tui, who previously encountered and resisted the alien's attacks, and use her help to deal with the menace.
Inside the terrorists' car, Katma manages to make them crash on a bridge, and Green Lantern saves them before they fall to the water. He and Green Arrow dispose of the terrorists, but Ffa'rzz appears out of nowhere and grabs Hal. Oliver helps him break free, but when Hal fires back, the alien escapes, and so do the terrorists. Seeing Ffa'rzz might be following them, the Green Lanterns decide their next course of action is to leave Earth and take the battle elsewhere. Taking Green Arrow with them, they head to Oa. Near the massive spacecraft Hal encountered earlier, the Mocker materializes in the form of Black Canary and then turns into a giant bird of yellow energy. With their power rings useless against the yellow canary, Oliver shoots an arrow, and the Green Lanterns increase its size, and the monster disappears. They land on the spacecraft, and Katma Tui reads a sign that says they are "on the edge of the ultimate ending."
