Green Lantern (Volume 3) with a cover date of October, 2001.
Synopsis for "House on Fire, Part 1"
John Stewart is at the Slab to talk to Fatality. Her battles with the current Green Lantern did cost her both of her arms which now have been replaced by high-end artificial arms and hands. Fatality is curious if Stewart is looking for some kind of closure or why he compares his wheelchair situation with her artificial limbs. While Fatality is taking her clothes off, she talks about how John created his existence, but gives no further clues to what she means by that. Instead she hints she may be looking for some physical contact when he visits her next time.
After having finished a business meeting, Kyle Rayner puts on his costume to support his girlfriend Jade who is rescuing people out of a burning building. Firefighter Ben Holcomb thanks them making it pretty obvious that he has a crush on Jade. But their job is not done as Kyle picks up another heat signature in the city. They enter an abandoned building which suddenly explodes. And while Jade was able to create a force field to protect herself, Kyle receives massive burns on the back of most of his body. While he tries to get to his feet, three villains calling themselves Inferno show up ... and they have not finished their work yet.
