Green Lantern (Volume 3) #28 is an issue of the series Green Lantern (Volume 3) with a cover date of September, 1992.

Synopsis for "Powerless!"

Hal Jordan chases down the Starlings who have stolen his Green Lantern Power Battery before he has a chance to charge his ring. Unfortunately, the Starlings escape, and Hal has only enough power left to either trace the battery, or break his fall back to earth. He decides to trace the battery, and after imprinting the location in his mind, he begins falling.

Evil Star finally gets his hands on the power battery, feeling its power. However, he is discovered by Goldface who demands to be given the battery. Evil Star tries to use it against Goldface, but the blast is deflected by his opponent's yellow suit. He uses his own stellar blasts to trap Goldface on the other side of a cave-in, leaving himself and the starlings trapped alone with the power battery.

Hal survives his fall, though not without injury. He forces himself to walk to a small airport where he breaks into a plane and hot-wires it. He flies to the mountain where Goldface's gang's hideout is, but has nowhere to land, and crashes the plane. He survives the crash and enters the cave entrance to Goldface's hideout, where he attempts to discover what relation Goldface has to Evil Star and the theft of his battery. When he mentions that he might know how to activate the battery, Evil Star bursts through the wall and forces him to do so. Of course, Hal does, and becomes the Green Lantern, blasting his foes.

Goldface escapes as Hal blasts Evil Star into unconsciousness. Hal, not having a chance to fully charge his ring, passes out from the pain of his fall and his plane crash. He comes to before Evil Star and the Starlings, charging his ring, and collecting his captives. He takes Evil Star to Oa in hopes that the Guardians of the Universe can contain him.
