Green Lantern (Volume 3) #36 is an issue of the series Green Lantern (Volume 3) with a cover date of February, 1993.
Synopsis for "The Ghost of Christmas Light"
Hal invites Carol to spend the holidays with his family. Unbeknownst to Hal, Dr. Light -now transformed into a being of pure light- follows the trail of the "supernal green." After the Jordan family reunites in a cabin, everyone thinks Hal and Carol are a couple, and Carol starts to feel uncomfortable at the idea of having a family and kids.
During the night, Carol talks to Sue, who used to think her husband and Hal's brother, Jim, was Green Lantern. When Carol is about to reveal his true identity, Hal stops her and takes her aside, saying that he wants to keep the secret and that he's building a new life.
The time comes for Santa Claus to show up, and Hal convinces Jim to take his place in the disguise. Suddenly, Dr. Light lures Green Lantern into the open by using the Christmas lights to attack the family, but Hal quickly turns into Green Lantern to fight the villain. Sue, still believing that Hal is under Santa Claus's disguise, assumes that it's Jim. Dr. Light entangles Green Lantern with the Christmas lights and cancels his power ring with yellow light. Howie and Sue try to help, and Sue jumps at Dr. Light after a laser beam hits her son. Green Lantern pulls the plug on the Christmas lights, and the villain materializes in the flesh. Hal tells the family to evacuate so he can fight Dr. Light. After a short fistfight, Green Lantern pretends to be defeated and gives his power battery to Dr. Light. However, the villain falls into his trap, and Hal absorbs Dr. Light inside the Battery.
Afterward, Hal and Carol stay outside of the cabin to talk. Carol mentions that she was moved by Sue's reaction to save her son, and she realizes that she doesn't have a love like that with anyone. So she asks Hal if it's time they got married, to which Hal can only respond with a surprised face.
