Synopsis for "Stand"

Donna Troy arrives in Gateway City in search of Wonder Woman. Instead, she finds her old boyfriend, Kyle Rayner. Kyle and Donna have an awkward reunion, and Donna tells him of a grave new threat that has been plaguing the galaxy. Kyle volunteers to help out and he creates a ship to fly them towards the location of Donna's fellow Darkstars.

Meanwhile, John Stewart and a contingent of eighteen Darkstars arrive on the planet Rann. They meet Adam Strange and warn him that Rann is a potential target for this new cosmic threat; specifically, the domed floating capitol city of Ranagar. Adam Strange tells John that Rann's defenses are minimal due to a recent war with the rival city-state Zared. They can use the Mega Zeta-Beam, but it is only a transportation device, and hardly capable of maintaining a defense.

Suddenly, alien warships appear in the skies above Ranagar. An energy ball takes out the Darkstar known as K'ryssma. As she lays dying, she warns John Stewart that "he's coming". Several more Darkstars fall by the wayside as warships pound away at Ranagar's perimeter. A mother ship lands and discharges the man responsible for all of this carnage - Lord Grayven. Adam Strange swoops down at Grayven and blasts him with his ray gun, but to little effect. John Stewart unleashes an energy blast as well, but Grayven merely backhands him out of the way. He then grabs John and shocks him with a powerful charge of energy.

Green Lantern and Donna finally arrive on Rann, but the battle is already lost. Grayven stands above the unconscious form of Adam Strange while holding John Stewart by the throat.
