Synopsis for "Secret Origin (Part II)"

Abin Sur, who is flying a transport due to a diminishing faith in his Power Ring, escorts Atrocitus to Earth in an attempt to avert the prophesied Blackest Night. Atrocitus breaks free and attacks Abin Sur, causing the ship to crash on Earth. Dying, Abin Sur sends a distress signal to Thaal Sinestro, before sending his ring to find a replacement. Elsewhere, Hal Jordan is suspended from flying as his employer sells the company to Ferris Aircraft. Abin Sur's ring finds Jordan and carries him back to Abin Sur. Sur informs Jordan that he is his replacement as the new Green Lantern of Sector 2814. As Jordan is testing his abilities as Green Lantern, he stumbles across an aeroplane that loses control. Green Lantern saves the pilot, delivering him back to Ferris Aircraft.
