Synopsis for "Nothing to Fear"

Some time ago, Lord Premier Thaaros of the United Planets and his representatives had arrived at Oa and told the Green Lanterns to assemble at the Great Hall. Once there, the United Planets representatives state that, with the Corps losing after the destruction of the main power Battery, the United Planets have decided to take a more proactive stance in upholding order across the universe. Until the Corps can recruit enough members and return to its full strength, the United Planets will relocate Green Lanterns and place them on areas of the universe in which they can effect the best change. As such, Sector 2814 will remain isolated until further notice.

The Green Lanterns of Earth are not happy with this decision and Thaaros explains that the Lanterns of Earth are needed for their expertise. Guy is reassigned for a mission to capture Lobo, while Hal and Kilowog reluctantly join Thaaros on a journey to Korugar, which has been occupied by the Sinestro Corps. On a private conversation with Kilowog, Hal admits that he has thought about returning to Earth and taking back the life he left behind, but Kilowog reminds him of his duty as a Lantern.

Once the United Planets ship lands on Korugar, Thaaros and his escort are greeted by Lyssa Drak and led to a dining hall, where Sinestro, supreme leader of Korugar, is waiting for them. Thaaros reveals his intention to convince Sinestro to have Korugar join the United Planets in the name of mutual protection, but Sinestro is reluctant to abdicate his power to a group of aliens that will undoubtedly place their own interests before those of Korugar. Sinestro brags that Korugar is the safest location in the galaxy, to which Hal replies that Korugar's safety came at the price of its people's freedom. Thaaros, not wanting to cause a diplomatic incident, orders Hal back to the ship.

On his way back to the ship, Hal berates himself for letting Sinestro get under his skin again, until he notices a trio of Yellow Lanterns fly towards the room in which Thaaros and Sinestro are talking. Unfortunately, he is too late to stop them as the Yellow Lanterns attack the building and Kilowog is barely able to protect Thaaros before fighting the Yellow Lanterns. As Hal calls for reinforcements, Kilowog tells him to protect Thaaros. Hal finds Thaaros buried underneath some rubble and, as he attempts to evacuate him, voices his suspicions about the treaty being a trap. Hal brings Thaaros back to his ship and attempts to find Kilowog, only for the Yellow Lantern Central Power Battery to explode.

On Earth, Hal tells Razer about the events on Korugar. According to Hal, Kilowog was completely vaporized by the battery's explosion and Hal himself woke up on Oa days later. Sinestro agreed to have Korugar join the United Planets and Hal believes that Sinestro only did that to protect his rulership over Korugar. The battery's explosion was caused by some kind of interferece with the emotional spectrum, and according to Razer, the blue power battery on Odym, has been destroyed, as well.

He never escape from Xela and the only stars he will see are the stars that will remain forever out of Korg's reach. He furiously tells the children to tear the ship Korg built apart, even when one of the children believes they can at least strip it for parts.

With his ship destroyed, Korg angrily accuses Nagaf of hoarding money and paying for expensive luxuries that he refuses to let the children enjoy. Angry over Nagaf's betrayal, the children release Korg from his restraints and insists that Nagaf have a fair fight with him.
