Synopsis for the 1st Story
A sullen Grifter is drinking alone in a bar when Badrock finds him and suggests they become a superhero duo. Annoyed, Grifter angrily tells him to go away. As Badrock walks off, Grifter feels bad and starts to apologize, but large armored drones burst into the bar. Badrock shields Grifter from the drones' gunfire, giving Cash time to pull his guns and counterattack. He and Badrock quickly take down the drones, but the bar is trashed. Later, the two men are talking to the police when Badrock's father arrives and exclaims that his wife has once again been kidnapped by the Covenant of the Sword. Held captive at a country club in the Hamptons, Angela McCall recalls her first kidnapping and muses about her past relationship with Grifter. Covenant members monitor her and discuss having kidnapped her specifically to lure Badrock and Grifter into a trap.
