Synopsis for "WildStorm Rising, Part 5 of 10"

Grifter calls Deathblow to let him know the Daemonites are after the fragment of a starship key he found in Nicaragua years ago.  Just then, the Daemonites attack, wounding Cash and starting a running battle through the streets of New York.  Twice during the fight, Cash passes out due to his injuries and has flashbacks of his past. First, he remembers running away from home and his abusive stepfather when he was 14.  Then, he recalls fighting in Burma as part of Team 7.  He comes to as a captive aboard a Daemonite attack skimmer.  He frees himself, hijacks the craft, and leads his Daemonite pursuers into a New Jersey oil refinery.  Cash passes out again, this time recalling his time as Zealot's protégé and lover.  He awakens just before crashing and shoots an oil tank.  The ensuing explosion kills his pursuers, and he flies away.  Unbeknownst to him, the Daemonites' leader Defile deliberately choreographed the entire battle and now tells his henchmen to follow Grifter to Deathblow.  Cash lands ten miles away from Cray's location and, disoriented from his wounds, stumbles down a back alley.
