Synopsis for "Robots in the DCU"
On January 3rd, 2000, Oracle logs the aftermath of Superman and the Metal Men's defeat of Brainiac 13 on Y2K. In the wake of Brainiac's global takeover of technology, the Metal Men ensured that armored and robotic heroes and villains were free from his influence and had adapted to the new millennium. However, the changeover triggered a failsafe within the body of Cliff Steele, the cybernetic Robotman, who lost control of his body. To prevent any collateral damage, the Metal Men formed "Alloy" and incapacitated Robotman, whose condition was cured by Steel using a vaccine drawn from the Red Tornado and the defeated Brainiac, while the Atom shrunk down to ensure that the interface between Robotman's body and brain had not been damaged.
