Guldejo was an ancient Warzoon hunter who became the first Mongul.

In the distant past, when Warworld had another name, the primitive aliens living on it known as Warzoons were not united under a leader. Each Warzoon lived only for himself, although some banded together for common aims such as hunting. One night, an alien spacecraft crashlanded on the surface of Warworld, revealing an underground city that would later be known as the Necropolis. Guldejo was the only one with the courage to approach the site, and saw an alien with metallic skin and a jewel in its chest searching the Necropolis. Guldejo mistook the alien for a god and began to pray to it, but the being considered him nothing but an animal and ignored him. Guldejo recognised the creature's contempt and, enraged, caved its skull in with a rock when it turned its back. He cut off the alien's skin to wear as armor and lodged the jewel in his own chest.

The jewel granted him great strength, allowing him to unite the Warzoons and become undisputed ruler of Warworld. He took the new name Mongul, meaning "strongest" in the ancient Warzoon language. Mongul spent the rest of his life searching the Necropolis for the treasure the alien was looking for but never found it. He was eventually murdered by his son, who cut the jewel from his flesh as he died. From then on every Mongul took the throne by killing his father and taking the jewel.
