Synopsis for "Capital Punishment: Act 1: Wake-Up Call"

Guy Gardner travels to Washington, D.C. to receive a medal of honor for saving the president. After the ceremony, Guy speaks separately with Superman and then with Steel. Suddenly, a brute called Sledge breaks out of a Quorum underground base hidden under Washington Monument and attacks Guy and Steel. Guy's body transforms automatically, and he loses control of his powers while fighting Sledge. The heroes defeat Sledge, and the Quorum (posing as federal agents) pick the escaped brute back.

Meanwhile, off in space, the Tormocks sense a Vuldarian presence on Earth, and they prepare to attack Guy.

After parting ways with Steel, Guy returns to his mother's house and finds Major Force waiting for him, with the refrigerator door open behind him.
