The H.I.V.E. Mistress was one of the several leaders of the H.I.V.E.. At some point, she murdered her husband and took control of the organization, starting an scheme called "Operation: Waterworks" wherein she attempted to destroy the underwater city of Atlantis. The plan alerted the attention of the Teen Titans members Aqualad and Aquagirl, who in turn sought assistance from the Titans. They succeeded in staving off the attack against Atlantis and crippled the H.I.V.E.'s station. Knowing that defeat was near, the Mistress refused to be taken alive. So she murdered the Council of Seven and apparently takes her own life. She was later succeeded by Adeline Kane.
H.I.V.E. Mistress was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, first appearing in Tales of the Teen Titans #46 (1984).
