Synopsis for "Sinestro's Law, Part Two: Recon"

In the uncharted territories of the cosmos, on the sentient planet Mogo, the remnants of the Green Lantern Corps have settled their headquarters. The situation is tragic: only 399 out of the original 7200 members of the Corps are alive and there are no replacements available to those who continue to fall. Kilowog adjourns brings the new Corps Leader, John Stewart, up-to-date: Salaak is working overtime to get the basic systems up and running, but for now to no avail. Stewart, without a word, flies away to Guy Gardner, who's coping with their inability to act. Stewart asks him if he knows anyone "dumb enough" to take on a solitary recon, to which Gardner answers "I'll grab my gear", meaning he's the one who'll go.

On the planet Joween, Hal Jordan easily overcomes Maash and Slushh, forcing them to speak about his friends.

On Warworld, Lyssa compliments her master Sinestro for the success of his Fear program, as she had read on the Book of Parallax, but he excuses her to speak with his daughter alone. He admits to having used her and her fear of losing him before reconciling to have her do what he wanted. She tries to smack him, but he parries the attack with a Yellow Light arm. As he continues explaining, her good, kind-hearted nature was necessary to establish the Sinestro Corps as a power of good to the eyes of the inhabitants of the cosmos, but to maintain that role it is now time to use his methods. Suddenly, a communication from Slushh reveals to Sinestro of Hal Jordan's return. Sinestro is shocked by the news, but argues that a Corps of a single man cannot oppose his.

On Joween, Hal is still trying to have Maash speak, while Sinestro orders his subordinates to fall back and leave Jordan be. Slushh doesn't listen and tries to capture him with the strength of Parallax instilled in his ring, but to no avail, as Jordan's power is now extreme due to his new Ring being made out of Krona's Gauntlet power. The two Yellow Lanters flee, with Jordan following them.

On Mogo, Guy Gardner prepares to go on his recon mission. Stewart orders him to not intervene in anything he sees but instead come back and discuss the best course of action. They both know that's won't happen, though.

Hal Jordan is in pursuit of Maash and Slushh, when they land on a city in an unknown planet. The populace asks him for help as a bigger set of Yellow Lanterns have come to aid their companions. Hal is cornered.
