Haley, aka Bitewing, is a pitbull owned by Nightwing. He adopted her after he rescued her from some teenagers who were chasing and abusing her for fun.

History

When Dick announced that he would use his wealth to radically change and improve Bludhaven, he became a target for the various organised crime groups that controlled the city. A band of gangsters broke into his home hoping to kill him, but found only Haley and kidnapped her. She was rescued by Nightwing and Batgirl.

Bitewing

Nite-Mite, a fifth dimensional imp, outfitted Haley with a costume as "Bitewing" and gave her the ability to speak. She thanked Dick for saving her and helped him rescue Olivia Desmond from a band of demons. She lost the ability to speak after their adventure.
