  • Hand-to-Hand Combat (Basic)
  • Firearms
  • Neuro-surgery Hendrickson long ago studied medicine, and once performed emergency surgery to remove a small radio receiver which had been wired into the nerves in Olaf's neck.[1]
  • Singing During their rare interludes of down-time, at the barracks on Blackhawk Island, and more frequently, on their return flights from their many international adventures, it was commonplace for the seven aviators of the Blackhawk Squadron to join their voices in a hearty chorus of their Blackhawk Anthem, often improvising new verses to fit the circumstances of that particular adventure.

Weapons

  • In ground combat, Hendrickson typically carried a Thompson submachinegun and a semi-automatic sidearm.

  • This version of Hans Hendrickson (Quality Universe), including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
  • Hendrickson's nationality has seen some change over the years. At first, he was a Dutchman.[2] Later accounts list him as West German[3] and East German.[4]
  • For several years, Hans Hendrickson incorrectly believed that his elderly father had died in a Nazi concentration camp. The East German government found the old man alive, and used him to lure the Blackhawk Squadron into a trap. The capture was bungled by the officer in charge, and the Blackhawks escaped, but the senior Hendrickson was killed amid the shooting.[5]
