Harbinger is a superhero named Lyla Michaels, who was given incredible powers by the Monitor Mar Novu. He saved her from death as a child, and raised her to help him oversee the Multiverse. Her ability to split into many different bodies allows her to warn other heroes during times of disaster, such as her huge role in the Crisis on Infinite Earths. She has been a member of the New Guardians. In the New 52, Harbinger is an artificial intelligence of the House of Heroes who aids the Monitor Nix Uotan in his mission to guard the Multiverse.
Harbinger was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, first appearing in New Teen Titans Annual #2 (1983).
