Attention Losers! Ya just messed with the wrooooong secret headquarters! So says Harley Quinn!... I can play whack-a-mook all day, ya mooks!
Harley Quinn (Volume 3) #48 is an issue of the series Harley Quinn (Volume 3) with a cover date of October, 2018. It was published on August 15, 2018.
Synopsis for "Clown for Hire, Part 1"
At night on the Brooklyn docks, the Penguin's men investigate some newly arrived crates, but only find a video game inside. It's more dangerous than they believed, as Lord Death Man and his minions kill them all for touching it.
In daylight, Coach has chained herself, her wheelchair and her animals to the front of Harley Quinn's secret headquarters - the last building standing in the way of new development. As the wrecking ball approaches, Harley and Tina of Apokolips overturn the cranes.
The slimy developer, Mr Lennick, demonstrates to Harley that he owns the land, due to non-payment of mortgage, but Harley has 48 hours in which she can still make payment. Despite the distraction of comic books — including a future issue of her own series — Harley steps out to make some money.
Harley takes job after job — fast food, party clown, Daily Planet intern, New York cabbie and skywriter; failing at every one. When the day is over she has made seven dollars and fifty-two cents. Her final job posting is from "Hidden Treasures" where Cap'n Crook offers one million dollars for the apprehension of Lord Death Man... dead. Harleen puts on her best stealth gear, takes Bernie the Beaver and goes looking for her prey.
Lord Death Man is skulking with his crew, when there's a knock at the door. The Death Minions blast away, open the door, and find a perforated pizza delivery guy who falls at their feet. Inside the delivery box is: a picture of Lord Death Man's father. Naked! He falls dead from a heart attack, and in the distraction, bowling-balls strike the heads of the Death Minions.
Harley discards the pizza-guy disguise, revealing Tina's armor plating and a large supply of bowling balls. Triumphant, she cuts out Lord Death Man's heart as proof and mixes it into a bloody mary. But before she can claim her million dollar reward from Cap'n Crook, Lord Death Man drinks the bloody mary, and is whole again and looking for revenge...
