Synopsis for "Into the Sky"

Carter Hall and Kendra Saunders decided to try being partners. Their task now is to reach India and the region of Amritsar, where archaeologist Daniel Evans currently resides, working on some mysterious excavation. Daniel knew the parents of Kendra, and might know more things that could give Kendra a track to follow to discover why, and who, killed his parents in the first place.

Carter decided to bring Kendra inside a warehouse, where Carter and Shiera accumulated all the objects they retrieved in their many lives together: Carter hopes that some of these objects will make Kendra remember her past, and her role as Hawkgirl. But while this is one of the objectives of Carter, it's not the main one: in truth, a Thanagarian spaceship, similar to the original one the ancient Egyptians found during Hawkman's origins, is also stored there and it is the fastest way to India. Getting inside the vehicle, Kendra instantly knows how to repair it and put it in function again: Carter tells her that Shiera knew everything about the ship, and that's probably key to what she just did.

Meanwhile, in St. Roch, Oliver Evans is trying to resist to the taunting of Mr. Roderic, who's waiting for the museum to become his. Roderic owns most businesses in the city, and wants to acquire the museum as well. As he enters, he knocks down the photograph of Oliver and his son, Daniel. After he leaves, the place grows colder and two phantom-like hands hang back the photo where it stood before.

Oliver's son, Daniel, is currently in the region of Amritsar, in India. He's trying to reach his contact via radio, but he's also followed by Roderic's scavengers: Shadow Thief, Copperhead and Tigress. The contact is an Indian woman called Jayita Sahir, who is found by Hawkman and Hawkgirl: the woman tells them Daniel is searching the Third Eye of Shiva, hidden in a temple inside a jungle. She also tells them Roderic wants it for his personal collection, and that Daniel is in danger. As Evans finds the temple, which is underground, he gets attacked by Roderic's men, but luckily for him Hawkman and Hawkgirl get there in time: the battle ensues. Watching the fight, unnoticed, are military troops also in the hands of Roderic, who are communicating with the boss himself. As they realize that Hawkman and Hawkgirl will win the fight, Roderic orders to launch missiles on the site, as the Third Eye of Shiva won't be destroyed by such weapons.

With the missles hitting, the pavement crumbles under their feet, and they all fall inside the temple: there, a huge statue of Shiva stands, with the diamond, the Third Eye, engraved on the statue's forehead. As Hawkman tries to find out what's happened, guards resembling the god Ganesha come out of the jungle.
