History
Little is known about the man who would later become The Black Beetle. He was first seen living together with his sister Nadia in El Paso Texas. Both teenagers where considered to be social outcast spending there free time gaming and hacking into government computers. Despite there skills both sibling felt they weren't accomplishing anything. Until Paco the friend of Jaime Reyes the third Blue Beetle approached them.
The Beetle Helpdesk
Hector and Nadia wired there network to the Blue Beetle Scarab own network. Virtual Blue Beetle Cave was born and both operators where ready and willing to provide the Blue Beetle with the information he needed. The Beetle Cave was also linked to Amparo house to spy on Tia Amparo this plan back fired when Brenda visited the two siblings and discovered her Aunt was the crime lord La Dama. Brenda spiteful to discover her closest friends kept this fact a secret from her was consulted by Hector and his sister. Worried he told her to not throw away the respect and inpact she had on the live of others, to not waste the thing he and his sister where trying to achieve for themselves.
Hector was instrumental in locating the cloaked Reach mother ship. an accomplishment that freed the Reach Scarabs ultimately exposed the Alien enterprise true intentions for our Earth.
Weeks later Hector was surprised when he encountered a giant green dog. At first no one believed him blaming it was cause of his lack of sleep. But by Peacemakers and Danielle Garrett founding one of the first Blue Beetles first enemies was located in El Paso, Doctor Mephistopheles. But the Blue Beetle let him go when it appeared the villain was long retired.
A Death in the Family
Nadia is discovered death
Unknown to Hector, Nadia installed Ted Kords Remote Control Hologram all around El Paso High School a gizmo's that creates a hologram of Jaime Reyes allowing him to change into the Blue Beetle with little suspicion. Somewhat before Jaime's schools valentine prom The Masked Marauder assembled Ted Kords rouge gallery in an attempt to kill his replacement the third Blue Beetle. With a bit of Hectors and Nadias information the Blue Beetle made short work of them.
Hours later the Blue Beetle and the KDRA a group of renegade Reach Scarabs made contact. Nadia noticed the scarabs where jamming the Blue Beetles signal as they where planning to kill there boss if he didn't a proof of there mission destroying any form of authority. Nadia ran of to warn Jaime in close followed by her brother.
Jaime was already battling the KDRA as the Blue Beetle so Nadia had to talk to the hologram to get to Jaime moments before Jaime was to far away to operate the hologram. With a montionless hologram of Jaime next to her,she was killed by Djo Dje and Khaji Eq. Hector who didn't know it wasn't Jaime who witnessed the murder of his sister could only feel contempt for his former boss. He took the Enforcer Scarab from his dead host. Now going by the name Joshua he left El Paso, planning for revenge.
What became after that is hazy at best. There is a change it was Hector posing as the Black Beetle for a while in the earlier days.
But hector was ultimately killed by the Black Beetle taking the Black Beetle Scarab as its own.
