Helen Flynn is Derek James's adoptive mother.

History

Helen became very overprotective of her son after he was hurt during the Dark Multiverse invasion in Gotham City. While initially unaware of Derek's secret identity as Sideways and newly acquired powers, she eventually became suspicious after discovering a folder with her son's name on a computer belonging to her boss, Leto Dominus. Investigating further, Helen managed to gain access to the files, discovering Derek's secret identity and Dominus' plans. Unfortunately, before she could act on this knowledge, she was killed and her body was left in Crime Alley.
