Synopsis for "Red Sepulchre, Part Two of Four"

In a dark room filled with numbered boxes, the shadowy figure from last issue – who we now know to be Mr. Fredericks – is discussing the search with Joshua (one of his men). Fredericks explains that Constantine may be the key to unlocking some metaphorical door. Next, we see Clarice and Albert barely escape an attack from Fredericks' men – an eventuality discussed by Clarice and her associates in the previous issue. Clarice and Albert consider that it may have been a good idea to have come clean with John if only they had not handed over Gemma to Fredericks. John finishes the tape, in which Gemma tells that Fredericks is a good man, and mentions his interest in something called the Sepulchre. She ends by saying that Fredricks has requested John's presence for breakfast at some location. John reluctantly attends, and Fredericks reveals information about Scrape's situation, and his relationship with him. This sheds some light on the events that led to Scrape's betrayal and demise. At the end of the breakfast meeting, Fredericks implies that he wants John out of the equation, and lodging with him until everything has blown over. John is left wondering about the fate of his niece, as well as what more Fredericks had planned. Afterwards, an old man named Ghant is seen torturing Scrape's ghost. He reveals that he had been working for months, and torturing Scrape, with little progress towards gaining the information he desires. Afterwards, we see John calling Angie – who he first met in the previous story arc – and asking for her assistance with his current predicament. It is clear she still harbors resentments about the manner in which John left her without any gratitude for her assistance with Gladys, and refuses to help. Meanwhile, Clarice and Albert use the body of Packer, one of their former associates, to summon a demon. Later, John meets with Josh Wright (who works for Fredericks), and is told that unless he cooperates, Gemma will be hurt. Wright explains that a Constantine is needed to locate the Sepulchre, which is likely among the items packed away in Fredericks' boxes.
