Synopsis for "RED SEPULCHRE PART FOUR of FOUR"
It is revealed that Map had decided to help Constantine, and cast a spell that made it appear to Fredericks' men that they had the right location, when in reality, Clarice and Albert were holed up in another building nearby. Map tells them that John is the only one now who could stop Fredericks, and that they should assist him. John is able to escape the other two after revealing to them that the duffle bag John asked about in the previous issue was what they were looking for. He then steals their car. He heads over to Fredericks' place, knowing that when he gets there, the rest would be easy. Meanwhile, Gemma confronts Fredericks and accuses him of lying and using her. He admits to using her as a bargaining chip before he knocks her unconscious and has her tied to a chair and gagged. The two thugs John left behind contact yet another of Fredericks' men, and tell him not to let Constantine get back into the storage room (where the antique boxes are kept). They then search for a car. John finally arrives to Fredericks' place. The same guard who was notified to expect John's return, is seen in the dark storage room holding a bloody rope. He is then possessed by a powerful spirit. Clarice, Albert, and Map are seen conducting a ritual or spell. John confronts Fredericks, who holds Gemma hostage through the use of a magical mirror. Meanwhile, the possessed thug brutally attacks the returning men Fredericks had sent to kill Clarice. To Fredericks' astonishment, John explains that that the drawstring of the duffle bag was the artifact that he was looking for, and how it was cursed by Kali's touch. Then, suddenly, Fredericks is attacked and killed by the possessed thug. John is able to exorcise the man before he attacks him next. John then carries Gemma to safety. At what looks to be the gravesite of Martin Packer, John speaks with Clarice, Albert, and Map. Clarice explains that Fredericks intended to use the Sepulchre to open three doors – one of them being, according to Albert, the door separating the living and the dead. Albert further explains that Fredericks personally told him about the dreams he was having. John walks off, saying that he is ready for whatever comes at him next.
