Notes

  • The events of the next issue imply that this story takes place around late April/early May 2008.
  • The Witch Doctor says that he saw "the fool at the end of all, the jester in the court of the last castle", also referring to him as a "laughing magician", like John Constantine. This is a reference to the Jack of the Kingdom of Terminus that Tim Hunter met at the End of Time in The Books of Magic #4.
    • After meeting with the Jack, Tim Hunter claimed he heavily resembled John Constantine, who he previously met for the first time in The Books of Magic #1. Both Tim's statement and the Witch Doctor's words foreshadow the revelation from the next issue.
  • This issue is reprinted in Hellblazer: The Laughing Magician.

Trivia

  • Mako recalls the Witch Doctor bounding Mnemoth into Gary Lester's body in Hellblazer #1.
