Earthworm was an enemy of Huntress.

Pre-Crisis

Leader of an illegal "baby-selling" operation, the man who called himself the Earthworm employed a network of frightened underlings to do his legwork since he preferred to live underground like his namesake. His agents would buy infant children from their destitute parents, then the Earthworm would sell those babies to wealthy couples who were willing to meet his price. The scheme proved profitable until the Earthworm came into conflict with the Huntress, who put an end to his entire operation. Though defeated, the Earthworm still managed to escape into the sewers, which were his home.

Post-Crisis

Earthworm became one of the various villains who accepted the demon Neron's offer in which he was given superhuman powers in exchange for his soul.[1] He along with Cheetah and Blackguard attacked the Warriors bar, and he killed several patrons and employees. Cheetah and Blackguard were defeated by Joe Gardner, but Wormhole escaped to his underground lair with several victims.[2] Earthworm was eventually tracked down by Warriors staffers Arisia, Tiger Man, and Veronna, and was then cryogenically frozen.[3]

Abilities

  • Animal Empathy: Earthworm seems able to command the rats, alligators, and other vermin of the sewers.
  • Contortionism: Earthworm is very slender and capable of maneuvering his body through spaces through which no normal-sized person could pass.

  • Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-Two era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and no longer apply.
