Hiram Kent was the father of Jonathan Kent.
History
Hiram Kent was born January 24, 1924.[1]
In 1945, Hiram served on the jury, that convicted a young murderer named Harry Volk.[2]
16 years later, Hiram and his wife had their son, Jonathan Kent. Earlier that year, Hiram had helped a mysterious drifter. What Hiram never found out was that this action might've resulted in his family being chosen to care for the drifter's son, Kal-El.[3]
Hiram passed away in late December, 1980.[1]

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Smallville and its tie-in and comic book series, Smallville and Smallville Season 11. It is an adaptation of Hiram Kent. The original character was created by Bill Finger and Wayne Boring and first appeared in Action Comics #132.
