Hop Harrigan was a teenage pilot who fought Nazis during World War II.
History
He went missing and was forgotten for nearly 75 years until a mysterious ring led Superman to him. Somehow still young, Superman discovered that a Doctor Anthelme had captured Harrigan and made the entire world forget he even existed. Eventually Hop and Superman managed to escape in a plane until Hop realized that the doctor had made him forget how to fly as well. Hop crashed the plane into the ocean; Superman was rescued but didn't remember exactly why he was there to begin with.[1]
