Synopsis for "Beat the Devil"

A thief robs a church of its poor box and when a priest attempts to stop him, the thief stabs him. That night he dreams the priest visits him and begs him to repent, but the thief claims that while he lives, he can always repent at a later time. During a robbery, the police put a bullet into him, and he makes his escape into the catacombs where he meets up with Satan. The thief rejects the Devil by repenting, but he is unaware that the bullet has taken his life, and Satan returns to Hell with the thief's soul as his prize.
