History

After several unsatisfying confrontations with Superman, Bizarro No. 1 abandoned Earth and forged a new world for himself dubbed Htrae. Using the Duplicator Ray, Bizarro populated the planet with imperfect duplicates of both himself and Lois Lane. There, they raised a family of Bizarro children, and attempted to eke out an existence for themselves, which proved to be a macabre pastiche of Superman's life back on Earth.

Notes

  • Htrae and all of its occupants are exclusive to Pre-Crisis continuity. With the exception of notable slips in Hypertime, Htrae is not considered part of the modern DC canon.
  • Htrae was also seen in Infinite Crisis #6. It was included as part of a montage of colliding parallel Earths. However, Htrae was not a dimensional counterpart to Earth, it was a distinctively separate planet.
  • A modernized version of Htrae was introduced in the "Escape from Bizarro World" storyline in Action Comics #855.

Trivia

  • The planet's name, Htrae, is actually Earth spelled backwards.
