Huntress #6 is an issue of the series Huntress (Volume 1) with a cover date of September, 1989.
Synopsis for "The Silence is Broken"
Outside the silk store where Huntress has recently been captured by Omerta and Mandragora, a homeless man waits for somebody to come by. When the villains come outside, dragging Huntress behind them, the homeless man gets in their way, and spills wine on Omerta's gun. He admits that the wine was actually glue, and Omerta's weapon is rendered useless, as the homeless man pulls his own gun. Omerta and Mandragora escape in their van, with the homeless man clinging to the back. Eventually, they shake him off, and it is revealed that the homeless man was actually Tony Angelo in disguise.
Later, Mandragora leads Helena and Omerta to a ruined and incomplete subway station, where Guido Bertinelli had a state of the art vault installed. Guido's hands and eyes had been removed because two of the locks on the vault required retina scans and finger-print scans, so that only he would have access to the vault. However, they could not gain access to the vault because of a third lock, which requires Guido's rare blood type to open. They cut Helena's finger, and force her to open the third lock, finally gaining access to her father's vault.
Inside, they discover a fortune in gold bars and bearer bonds, and strangely, Mandragora suggests that he would share the money with Helena, if she would be with him. She refuses, knowing that he arranged the murder of her family. Mandragora is incredulous, reminding that her father was a killer too. Angrily, she puts her concealed knife to Omerta's neck. Mandragora dares her to kill him, but when she hesitates, he kills Omerta himself.
Helena runs away, and the aging Mandragora gives chase. She surprises him, and causes a cave in, which causes him to fall through a hole in the floor. She rushes down to help him up, realizing that he could die, and he makes one last plea to gain her loyalty. He suggests that without her father's death, she would have lived life as a kept mafia princess, trapped in her father's mob-world. As he grips her arm, she remembers her abuse as a child, and every other time she was threatened, and lets him fall to his death.
Helena returns to the vault, and discovers a massive coded ledger, which she believes is her father's diary. She hopes to decode it, and use it to bring down mob activity in New York City, once and for all.
