Synopsis for "Thunder in Mesa City"
In the 1800s, when Max Mercury was known as Windrunner, he tried to stop a plot to kill the family of Mesa City's sheriff, Bill Tane. But Tane mistakes Windrunner as a threat and locks him in prison, while his wife is shot. As Ella Tane dies in the arms of her son, Johnny, she urges him to live a life free of violence. Tane, however, wants his son to be able to protect himself, so he teaches him how to shoot. Johnny is a natural at it, but he's conflicted by his two parents' wishes. But once he learns that Max Mercury has another identity, he decides that he can be two people, as well. So a young Johnny Thunder helps Windrunner protect Sheriff Tane and round up the thugs that have been plaguing Mesa City.
