Synopsis for "Crossfire"

A squad of guards wearing night vision goggles surrounds Impulse in a darkened room at a missile testing site. Impulse quickly discovers how they are able to see him, and snags a pair of goggles off of a guard's head. He then proceeds to beat each of them up, and vibrate his molecules through the cell walls to freedom. He races home to tell Max what has transpired.

The following day at school, Bart quickly scribbles out a brand new report. Rather than revealing his true history however, he creates a fictitious video game-inspired tale of space ships and monsters. His teacher is exceedingly unimpressed with Bart's creativity and sends him to the principal's office. He meets Randal Sheridan, the assistant principal. Randal takes a shine to Bart and finds him to be an exuberant and creative individual.

The following Saturday, Impulse runs down to the Technodyne hover tank demonstration. He approaches Technodyne's CEO, Richard Nordstrom, and warns him about the men who are trying to destroy his work. Nordstrom soon learns that the man responsible for attacking his hover-tank is Martin Beaumont, a former Technodyne researcher.

From a bluff high above, Martin Beaumont and his crew launch another heat-seeking missile at the hover-tank. Impulse locks onto the missile's signal and uses his super-speed to divert the projectile's course. Several of Beaumont's goons run down the hillside and begin firing upon Impulse. Bart deflects their bullets with his hands and takes off after Beaumont. Martin attempts to escape in a truck, but Bart causes him to slam the vehicle into a tree.
