Synopsis for "A Circle of Fire Epilogue: I Rann and I Rann and I Rann..."

Driven to be a more responsible hero than his evil counterpart Inertia had been, Impulse begins racing around the planet determined to save everyone he can. When he "saves" Adam Strange from being struck by lightning, he winds up being transported by the Zeta-Beam to the planet Rann in Adam's place. Rann's hero is not amused as he was hoping to return to his wife Alanna and his daughter Aleea.

On Rann, a disoriented Impulse spots a woman and a young girl gliding by in a flying car. In pursuit of them are creatures which look like wild boars but have the size of rhinos. Using a giant whirlwind, Impulse is able to push the animals away from the flying car and into another direction. However, the woman is not happy about that because she tried to lead the so called lava pigs away from the city of Ranagar. Impulse apologizes and explains how he got teleported here. The woman who actually is Alanna Strange now understands that Impulse must have accidentally been struck by the Zeta-Beam instead of her husband.

After telling Impulse how the Zeta-Beam works and about her relationship to Adam Strange, Impulse accompanies Alanna and her daughter into the city to talk to Sardath. This man is not only the father of Alanna, but also the greatest scientific mind on the planet. As is their nature, the lava pigs have dug themselves deep into the planetary crust and according to Sardath only 17 minutes are left before a stream of lava will destroy the city. Without listening further, Impulse uses his super speed to dig a huge trench which redirects the lava into the sea instead. However, this not only kills a lot of sea creatures, but also awakens an enormous beast called Amphibitus which once was defeated by Adam Strange and put into artificial hibernation at the bottom of the sea.

Meanwhile, Adam Strange has approached Green Lantern. Kyle recently was responsible for an attack on Rann, but now Adam has to ask him for help to save Impulse. Kyle instead thinks that Rann needs to be saved from Impulse. Both heroes blast off into space trying to catch up to the Zeta-Beam ...
