On Earth-19, Lex Luthor arrives at Gotham City's Arkham Asylum and tells his driver Mercy Graves that it will take him a while. The doctors of the asylum welcome him and state preparations have been made for what he needs to do. Doctor Arkham assures that his desired inmate is open to talking to him and adds that he is reading fortune through cards. Luthor soon enters a cell with the Joker, who states that he wasn't expecting him. Lex assures he won't take too much of his time, but he states that time is the only thing he has in abundance. As Lex tries to get to the point, Joker asks him about the state of his industrial empire and bemuses how he is about to finish off their gaslight era, by using galvanic power as a source.
Joker then questions Lex if he will conquer other worlds after conquering this one, leaving him uneasy as he had come to talk gain his insight on a similar topic. As Joker states that he knows nothing of other worlds, Lex questions if he is playing him, with Joker responding he is only playing with cards. Lex then reveals that a woman named Harbinger had visited him earlier, requesting his assistance against a threat endangering the multiverse, which consists of multiple universes, but he had her thrown out. She was later found dead in Gotham and he decided to investigate, since he had found devices on her during their earlier meeting, and they were far advanced far beyond the technology of their own world. He soon came upon an energy signature from another reality near the scene of her murder and realized the universe may truly be in peril.
Joker tells Lex that he's worried about not being able to rule anything if the threat comes to pass and upon asking why he is asking him, gets told that since he is insane, unlike sane people he wouldn't reject the notion of a multiversal threat. Joker then reasons it's probable that Harbinger was truthful, but he wouldn't help her, since they'll lose anyway and it's better to use the time to create mayhem. Lex angrily tells Joker that he is disappointed in him, calling him both insane and a nihilist, but he won't let the world die as he wants to rule. Going back to his car, he is shown images of a monster attacking Star City by Graves. Lex thus realizes that Harbinger was right and orders his driver to quickly take him back to Metropolis.
Meanwhile, as the Doomsday of Earth-13 rampages on Earth-44, Zatanna tells the others that it's unstoppable like she said. The Mecha Superman however rejects such a notion, with Flash marveling at his confidence. Zatanna insists that she is right and states he's faced no such thing as a Doomsday before, stressing they need something far beyond physical strength. She then tells the others to be ready to assist her and attacks Doomsday alone. As the monster attacks her, Cyborg instructs the Flash to save her, before fighting the monster himself. The monster struggles to stand under his barrage of heavy fire, but the ammunition is quickly exhausted. Cyborg gets dumbfounded upon learning he spent everything and tries to teleport away as Doomsday attacks, but finds his power levels depleted.
Mecha Superman soon flies in and knocks away Doomsday, saving Cyborg. Meanwhile Flash saves Zatanna, who struggles with pronouncing "fly" backwards, from falling to the ground. As she questions how he saved her despite her falling at a great speed, Flash reveals that he countered it with his Speed Force, though he himself doesn't know how he can use it. Zatanna despairs how Doomsday wasn't even affected by her attacks, even though she used her full strength, and Flash surmises that he must be resistant to magic as he hails from a magical universe. Cyborg and Superman soon arrive, stating that while Doomsday doesn't take damage from the attacks of their advanced weapons, he is susceptible to technology. As Cyborg tries to show them a hologram, Superman reminds his energy is still drained.
Showing the others the hologram himself, Superman reveals that they've discovered a device attached to Doomsday's natural armor. As Zatanna states it must have brought him to Earth-44, Superman states she is correct and believes that it is one of the artifacts the Monitor earlier warned him about. He then reveals his plan to destroy the device in order to send Doomsday back to Earth-13, while also stating that the monster has damaged Mecha Wonder Woman and Supergirl, in addition to destroying Mecha Shazam who will reassemble himself. Though he may be unstoppable, they can send it back to Earth-13. Zatanna questions if they should simply leave him to rampage on another world, but Flash states that they'll be able to fight him there more effectively, as she would be more powerful there, a plan which everyone agrees to.
Cyborg attacks Doomsday in order to distract him. As the monster tries attacking him, he teleports away and starts attacking again. The reeling monster tries to punch him repeatedly, but Cyborg teleports away every time. Mecha Superman agrees with Zatanna that he won't be able to keep it up for long, telling the others to start acting as per their plan. As they fly towards Doomsday, Superman assures Zatanna that he'll safely carry them across the Bleed when the time comes, since the Monitor had taught him how to, but he will need Cyborg's knowledge in creating a portal and her magic in locating Earth-13. Barry Allen shouts at the monster, distracting him and allowing Cyborg to attack him from behind.
Zatanna soon joins in to create more distractions, by creating illusions of multiple Cyborgs. As the monster struggles to find the real one, Zatanna tells Superman to reach the device they're after, warning she won't be able to keep up the illusion for long. Superman soon discovers the location of the device and strikes at Doomsday's back, before destroying it. The destruction of the artifact causes the monster to be teleported back to Earth-13 and Superman reminds the Justice League that they had decided to not let it harm another world. Zatanna agrees and states that they have a better chance of beating it on its magical homeworld. Cyborg states that he'll open a portal through the Bleed and Superman assures Flash that his world will repair all damage quickly.
Cyborg then states he can immediately open a portal, but needs to know from Zatanna if she can track down where Doomsday went. As she affirms, he opens it and the team gets ready to travel to Earth-13.
