The Invisible Man was a scientist named Hawley Griffin who became a member of the Murray Group, a league of extraordinary individuals formed in 1898 by the British Empire to perform secret missions for the Crown in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen's universe. Through a chemical process, Griffin's skin, nails and hair have been rendered completely invisible, so he wraps his head in bandages and dons a pair of goggles or glasses in order to enable others to see him.
The Invisible Man was created by H. G. Wells in the 1897 novel The Invisible Man. He was first adapted into DC Comics by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen #2 (1999).
