Personal History of Irwin Hasen is unknown.
Hasen worked for various comic companies during the Golden Age, including DC, Marvel, Centaur, Archie, and Holyoke. 
Hasen, an active member of the National Cartoonists Society, met Gus Edson while on a tour of Germany and together they created the Dondi comic strip in 1954, with Edson writing and Hasen drawing.
Hasen died at age 96 on March 13, 2015. He was reportedly DC's last surviving artist from the years of World War II.
