Ebon is a Bang Baby with powers relating to darkness.
History
Moments after a false-flag operation against Bang Babies held by an unknown organization was thwarted by Static, Ebon kidnapped one of the terrorists, imprisoning him on the edge of town and was later interrogated about their crimes against Bang Babies. As the terrorist instead spouted off hate speech, Ebon promptly killed him and threw his body in front of a subway train.[2]

- Bang Baby Physiology: Due to affects of Quantum Juice from the Big Bang event. Ivan gained a metahumanized anatomy that enables him to cloak himself and blend in with shadows & darkness.[3] Ebon can alternate any and all forms of umbran effect to his desired liking at will, from altering his semblance to creating portals and phasing through solid matter at will.[4]

- When he envelopes others in shadow, he can also suffocate them.
- Intangibility: Adams can often harmlessly let items and people pass through him without fear of injury, he could even implement it to get in and out of spaces that were physically impenetrable as well.[5]
- Telepathy: Dubbed by Static as Ebon's "Shadow Mind-Sweep"[6], Ebon can reach into the minds of, and access the memories of others when he is attempting to extract information from them, which he does if they refuse to answer his questions willingly. He explains it as a way to see all the secrets that people whisper in the shadows, who Ebon self proclaims to be the master of. "This apparently can make one see or feel their worst nightmares", and causes the victim to be "hurt bad"; leaving eyes full of burst capillaries, lungs torn up from screaming, and bones to be "wrong", as if they were to be "taken out and put back upside down."[7] Static describes the sensation as burning ice seeping into his chest and creeping into his mind, but this is actually Ebon preparing to show Static his own mind, bringing Static in rather than entering Static's mind.[8]
- Metamorphosis: Ivan could also alternate his shadow form to assume other shapes and sizes. Accommodating more menacing visages to instill fear in those he's assailing as well as sprouting razor claws that he can use to visceral effect.[9]
- Portal Generation: Evan's can use his powers to create rifts that drown and plunge people into an unknown nexus from where he utilizes his transportation abilities.[10]
- Shadow Teleportation: Ebon can teleport himself and others through darkness, by enveloping them in shadows.[2]
- Darkness Manipulation: Ebon can generate, manipulate and solidify darkness.[2]
