Law, politics, and consulting
Though she graduated law school, she decided not to practice law, choosing instead to stay involved in politics after having started a local New Orleans chapter of NOW. In 2002 she helped found the consulting firm Madison/St. John before moving on to Red Room.
Singing
Madison is currently working with her friend, pianist Richard Hall, on a CD of "jazz standards with a lounge edge" with a tentative release set for 2009.
Writing
Madison has been a writing professionally since law school at least. As a student she was Editor in Chief of the Law Review. She counts among her works The Mice of French Laundry, a children's book, and The Imperial Tea Garden of Sorrowful Cranes, her first completed novel.
Red Room
In 2002, Madison started Red Room, a social network for writers, as well as Red Room Writer's Society, which seeks to help writers get their stories onto the page.
